*Job Overview*
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Operations Manager to oversee and optimise our organisation’s information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing server environments, network security, disaster recovery plans, and ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of modern IT frameworks and technologies. The IT Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining the organisation’s technological resilience and supporting business growth through innovative IT solutions.
*Duties*
* Oversee server management, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft SQL Server environments to ensure stability and performance.
* Implement and maintain information security protocols to protect organisational data against cyber threats.
* Manage network security measures such as firewalls, Cisco routers, WAN, LAN, DHCP, IIS, and network infrastructure to safeguard connectivity.
* Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies to minimise downtime and data loss during unforeseen events.
* Lead systems engineering initiatives involving Active Directory, Azure, AWS, SharePoint, and remote access software to optimise operational efficiency.
* Utilise tools such as SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Jira, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for monitoring system performance and project management.
* Provide technical support across the organisation by troubleshooting hardware/software issues and supporting desktop support activities.
* Supervise a team of IT professionals by delegating tasks effectively while fostering professional development through training programmes aligned with ITIL standards.
* Manage projects related to network support and infrastructure upgrades ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
* Analyse system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement; implement solutions that enhance overall operational effectiveness.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans for future technology adoption aligned with organisational goals.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience in managing complex IT operations within a corporate environment.
* Strong knowledge of server management (Windows & Linux), network engineering (Cisco routers, WAN/LAN), and security protocols (firewall configuration).
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure alongside virtualisation technologies including VMware vSphere.
* Experience with enterprise tools like SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, DHCP & IIS.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in an IT setting.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively.
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities; adept at conducting system analysis to inform decision-making processes.
* Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly desirable.
* Effective communication skills essential for liaising with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders alike.
