Join our team as an Order Picker in Des Moines, Iowa, and play a crucial role in fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for locating and retrieving products from warehouse shelves based on order slips. This position requires speed, accuracy, and a keen eye for detail. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing technology to track inventory and confirm order completion. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret order pick lists or use voice-picking technology to identify items needed.
- Navigate warehouse aisles to locate specified products quickly and accurately.
- Retrieve products from shelves, ensuring correct item codes and quantities are selected.
- Use RF scanners to track inventory movement and confirm picked items.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping station using carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory levels or product damage immediately.
- Meet or exceed established picking productivity goals.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as stocking or receiving.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform lifting of up to 40 lbs regularly. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners is a plus. Commitment to safety protocols and wearing required PPE. Understanding of logistics and inventory management.
