About
Our logistics team in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk. This role is fundamental to our supply chain, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing all incoming goods. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all deliveries match purchase orders and are accurately documented. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of inventory management, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. Experience in a warehouse or receiving environment is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight, verifying quantities and contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label all incoming merchandise for proper storage.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to resolve any delivery discrepancies or issues.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with common shipping and receiving documentation.
- Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.
