About The Role: Due to continued success and expansion within our OCS Energy Services Division, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Solar PV Design Engineer to join our team. You should have a strong track record of producing cost‑effective and technically sound solar solutions for a wide range of commercial solar systems.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake initial feasibility and yield assessments of potential sites.
Develop Solar PV Technical designs using PV*SOL, PVSyst and PVCase software.
Produce design drawings including single line diagrams and initial layouts.
Carry out site visits to determine electrical points of connection, required equipment, technical solutions and pricing for projects.
Assist in preparation of tenders " "quot; " " "" "'quot;' quotations.
Prepare and submit DNO applications.
Further develop designs and information to enable construction.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience with commercial Solar PV projects.
Experience with engineering design software – PVsol, PVSyst, AutoCAD, AMTECH.
Experience utilizing PVsol and PVsystem design software in the production of commercial solar designs and the ability to interrogate design software outputs.
An understanding of the scope of work, specifications, programmes and cost control of tender documents.
An understanding of contract, contract conditions and obligations.
An understanding of current G99 & G100 Regulations, Electrical Regulations, Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative requirements.
City & Guild 2372/2399 or NICEIC Solar PV preferred but not essential.
Work Pattern
Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Monday‑Thursday, 08:00‑17:00.
Friday, 08:00‑15:30.
Office based in Stirling, with Hybrid working option, subject to the needs of the department/business.
