Position Overview

The Electrical Inspector – Level 1 (QA/QC) role is a core field position within Halo's quality service delivery team. This position supports electrical construction activities through inspection, documentation, and verification of compliance with project requirements.

This role represents the first level within our electrical inspection hierarchy and focuses on execution in the field while working within established QA/QC processes.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Inspection Activities:
Perform complex electrical and multi-trade inspections independently
Conduct pre-installation, in-progress, and final inspections across all systems
Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering details
Verify proper installation methods, materials, and workmanship standards
Witness and document FAT/SAT testing, startup activities, and commissioning tests

Quality Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive inspection reports with detailed findings and recommendations
Create issues and track resolution to closure
Maintain complete QC files for assigned areas or systems
Generate weekly inspection summary reports for project leadership
Document pre-functional and functional testing results

Technical Review & Verification:
Review submittals for compliance with specifications and design intent
Verify material certifications, test reports, and manufacturer documentation
Check shop drawings against installation and field conditions
Perform dimensional verification and alignment checks
Review and approve mock-ups and sample installations

Mentoring & Training:
Provide guidance and training to Level 1 Inspectors
Review and validate inspection reports from junior inspectors
Share technical knowledge and best practices with inspection team
Assist in developing inspection procedures and checklists
Demonstrate proper inspection techniques in the field

Coordination & Problem Resolution:
Coordinate inspection schedules with contractors and commissioning teams
Facilitate resolution of quality issues with trade contractors
Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical input
Support RFI process with field observations and recommendations
Interface with design team when field conditions don't match design

Compliance & Standards:
Ensure installations meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
Support AHJ inspections and facilitate approvals
Verify proper testing procedures are followed per specifications
Maintain certifications and continuing education requirements
Stay current on code updates and industry best practices

Teamwork & Culture:
Maintain extreme transparency in communication and reporting
Actively support cross-team collaboration to achieve project quality objectives
Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and teamwork

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of electrical inspection experience
  • Journeyman Electrician License – Nevada preferred
  • OSHA 10 prior to site arrival
  • NFPA 70E certification required (may be completed upon site arrival).
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong attention to detail with a field-focused mindset
  • Comfortable documenting findings clearly and professionally
  • Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently
  • Commitment to safety and quality at all times
