General Summary :

Reports To: Director of Technology

Job Type: Full-Time, 240 Days

Position Overview

The Instructional Technology Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and support for integrating technology into teaching and learning across the district. This position fosters innovative instructional practices, supports educators in leveraging technology to improve student outcomes, and ensures alignment with district goals and standards.

Specific Focus: This role focuses on the selection and implementation of instructional software, the facilitation of high-quality professional development, and general support for classroom technology integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Professional Development and Training
  • Plans and facilitates training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching for staff on technology-related topics.
  • Provides ongoing professional development to staff on the effective use of technology tools and resources.
  • Develops resources and training materials that support the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Supports teachers in implementing personalized learning strategies using technology.
  • Stays up to date with emerging instructional technologies and shares best practices with the educational community.
  • Collaborates with various groups such as Instructional Coaches and Media Specialists to support their specific instructional technology needs.
2. Instructional Software Selection and Implementation
  • Assists in evaluating, selecting, and implementing new instructional technology tools and platforms to ensure they meet curricular needs.
  • Manages and supports the lifecycle of instructional software and digital media use for all schools (excluding digital textbooks).
  • Monitors the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives and software implementations, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines regarding software data privacy and technology use in schools.
  • Collaborates with Instruction and Information Technology teams to ensure alignment between technology initiatives and instructional goals.
3. General Support of Classroom Instructional Technology
  • Collaborates with teachers and administrators to design, implement, and evaluate technology-rich instructional strategies.
  • Serves as a resource for integrating digital tools into curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Provides support to staff, instructional coaches, and administrators on using assessment and software data to impact instructional decision-making.
  • Serves as a liaison between instructional staff and the Information Technology department to address classroom technology needs.
  • Supports general technology use in the district as needed (e.g., providing data or spreadsheet support, assisting with media creation, supporting meeting space technology, etc.).
4. Leadership and Collaboration
  • Actively collaborates with the Instruction team to assess needs and provide solutions and support for instructional needs.
  • Participates in district-wide planning to ensure equitable access to technology and digital resources for all students and staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certificate or relevant technology certification.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in K-12 education or a similar setting.
  • Proven experience integrating technology into the classroom to support instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Experience delivering professional development for educators.
  • Experience managing users through instructional software platforms.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and digital learning tools.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), student information systems, and other educational software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions related to instructional technology initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Google for Education certification (e.g., Google Certified Educator or Trainer).
  • Apple Education certification
  • Knowledge of Visible Learning frameworks for instructional design.
  • Experience working in a technology-rich classroom environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in a school and office setting with occasional travel between schools.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry light equipment or materials as needed.
