Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, restaurant management, and customer service. This role involves supporting the general manager in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hospitality while supervising staff and ensuring efficient service delivery across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings. The Assistant GM will play a vital role in staff training, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including shift management and supervising staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales reporting.
- Supervise inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste.
- Lead staff training initiatives, including onboarding new team members and ongoing development programs focused on food safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Support food production, catering, banquet events, and bar services as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards across all departments.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial management to meet operational goals.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Participate in interviewing potential team members to build a skilled workforce aligned with company values.
- Collaborate with management on strategic planning for restaurant growth and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service management roles, preferably with supervisory or assistant manager experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the food industry including food preparation, kitchen management, and hospitality operations.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and supervising diverse teams.
- Background in managing inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis within a restaurant setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns effectively.
- Experience in managing shift operations within casual dining, fine dining, quick service, or catering environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations; certification preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in operational tasks such as training & development and food quality assurance. Pay: From $15.00 per hour
