Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. The Opportunity
As part of Ally's Supply Chain organization, the Technology Sourcing Manager is responsible for supporting assigned lines of business in the technology domains, specifically our Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) and Architecture & Corporate Technology (ACT) groups. The Technology Sourcing Manager will drive customer satisfaction and savings within their areas of responsibility, as well as help to mitigate supplier and contractual risks for the business. The Technology Sourcing Manager will support the enablement and management of contracts and initiate contract amendments, renewals, and terminations.
The Technology Sourcing Manager will lead high-impact sourcing initiatives and collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals. Additionally, the successful candidate will help drive efficiency, enhance supplier performance, and promote disciplined, risk-aware procurement practices.
Through strategic insight and strong relationship management, this manager will contribute to a culture of transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement, delivering measurable value across cost, quality, and risk management while elevating Ally's technology ecosystem.
The Work Itself
- Identify and collaborate with internal resources with experience in various categories/supplier relationships, including support partners, other Sourcing Managers, Supplier Management team members, etc.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners.
- Provide proactive strategic sourcing support and stellar customer service.
- Lead multiple projects as an individual contributor or as a team lead.
- Manage/facilitate effective fact based negotiation strategies to maximize contract benefits and risk mitigation.
- Execute contracts with approved terms and conditions.
- Support maintaining contracts through amendments, renewals and terminations.
- Work with business units to maximize compliance and optimize spend against established contracts and supplier programs.
- Support the management of relationships with suppliers and support constructive handling or resolution of issues and disputes.
- Support oversight of working relationships with key preferred suppliers.
- Facilitate and execute various sourcing strategies like RFP's, RFQ's, etc.
Skills
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of strategic IT Technology Sourcing, negotiation and other relevant procurement management experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Appropriate professional affiliations/certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications, business and industry analysis, financial analysis, supplier selection and management, contract negotiations, conflict management, decision making, strategic thinking.
- Experience leading a work effort to negotiate price, rates, details, contract terms, and conditions.
- Analytical ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans.
- Must possess good individual communication skills Is able to multi task.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large projects across multiple parties while delivering results.
- Experience handling difficult situations with clients and/or vendor negotiations.
