This position is for STL Engineers, a sister company of CARCON Industries.
STL Engineers is seeking an experienced QA Mechanical Inspector with extensive knowledge of complex mechanical systems and strong inspection expertise. The ideal candidate will bring a deep mechanical background, advanced certifications, and proven experience evaluating equipment performance, safety, maintenance quality, and compliance in large, high-demand environments.
This role focuses heavily on mechanical system inspections, quality assurance, and ensuring adherence to applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.
- Perform quality assurance checks to verify compliance with standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Assess maintenance practices, operational performance, and mechanical reliability.
- Review service logs, maintenance records, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify deficiencies, hazards, improper maintenance, and mechanical reliability concerns.
- Interpret engineering drawings, mechanical schematics, specifications, and OEM manuals.
- Prepare precise, detailed inspection and QA reports documenting findings and corrective recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry standards, mechanical codes, and QA best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving inspection standards, safety regulations, and mechanical QA methodologies
Required Qualifications
- Extensive mechanical inspection and QA experience in complex facility or infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, failure indicators, maintenance standards, and safety requirements.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed inspections and produce high-quality documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical specifications, and mechanical service documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Preferred Certifications & Credentials
- ASME, QEI, or other recognized mechanical inspector certifications.
- Mechanical trade license or related mechanical certifications.
- NICET certification (mechanical or relevant category).
- OSHA 10/30 safety certifications.
- Technical degree or vocational training in mechanical systems or related field.
Nice-to-Have
- Basic familiarity with electrical components that support mechanical systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80, $100,000.00 per year
