Job Title: Associate Design Engineer Location: Rochester, MN
Job Summary: Emcor Enclosures is seeking an ambitious Associate Design Engineer to launch their career with our team in Rochester, Minnesota This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or early-career professional passionate about mechanical design and manufacturing. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design high-quality electrical enclosures for critical sectors like datacenters and defense.
While you will start by supporting existing product lines, you will quicldy gain exposure to cutting-edge datacenter trends, including the Open Compute Project (OCP) standards. We are looking for someone eager to learn sheet metal fabrication, master CREO software, and grow with the company.

Responsibilities:
⢠CAD Design: Create and modify detailed mechanical part and assembly drawings using CREO CAD software under the guidance of senior staff.
- BOM Management: Assist in the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of Bills of Materials
(BOMs) within the ERP system.
Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with the shop floor team to understand sheet metal fabrication processes (turret, brake press, welding) and troubleshoot simple design issues.
Prototyping: Participate in the assembly and review of prototypes for new custom designs.
Learning & Development: Actively learn industry standards, including standard 19" rack specifications and emerging OCP (Open Compute Project) architectures.
Engineering Analysis: Learn to perform basic structural and thermal calculations to ensure product integrity.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CREO preferred; SolidWorks or Inventor acceptable with willingness to learn).
Soft Skills: Strong desire to learn manufacturing processes. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
