About

We are seeking an experienced
Maintenance Manager
to lead, organize, and continuously improve maintenance operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for overseeing all equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and reliability initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, proven leadership ability, and experience in food or regulated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Maintenance Department, including technicians and contractors
  • Develop and execute
    preventive maintenance (PM) programs
    to reduce downtime
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
  • Ensure compliance with
    GMPs, OSHA, SQF, and food safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
  • Manage and track maintenance budget, parts inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime
  • Supervise installations, upgrades, and capital projects
  • Conduct safety training, equipment audits, and team development
  • Respond to urgent breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs
  • Partner with production leadership to support operational goals

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience
  • Experience in
    food manufacturing
    or regulated industrial environment required
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Electrical & mechanical systems
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • PLCs and automation troubleshooting
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Understanding of food safety standards (SQF, GMP, HACCP preferred)
  • CMMS system experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule with on-call availability when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical degree (preferred)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration and packaging equipment
  • OSHA safety certification
  • Continuous improvement / reliability background
