About the Role:
Brooksource Engineering Services is hiring a
Warehouse Automation Engineer
for a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing client undergoing a
warehouse expansion project
. This role will support a warehouse initiative that includes
Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS),
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
, and support of
automation infrastructure
to the latest generation technology.
You will play a critical role in leading to the operational success of an automated warehouse with ASRS and AGV fleets, ensuring smooth integration and reliability. The position offers strong collaboration opportunities with
experienced engineers and operations
contacts, providing a supportive environment for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commissioning, qualification, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for warehouse automation systems.
- Support expansion efforts by integrating new ASRS and AGV systems into existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure material flow efficiency and predict bottlenecks.
- Interpret facility drawings and contribute to automation design improvements.
- Drive lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide subject matter expertise for ASRS and AGV systems.
- Support validation activities such as process commissioning, qualification, and Computer System Validation (CSV).
- Develop system monitoring reports for reliability and business decisions.
- Define maintenance strategies, including spare parts management and AutoCAD job plans.
- Champion safety initiatives and uphold compliance standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work safely and promote a safe work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based collaboration.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with general automation systems such as Rockwell ControlLogix PLC.
- Ability to understand material flow and facility drawings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a process automation engineer.
- Commissioning and Qualification experience.
- Knowledge of relational databases and basic SQL queries.
- Experience with system integration techniques and OPC communication.
- Familiarity with sensor configurations and software development standards.
- Experience with ASRS/automated warehousing systems.
- PowerBI data modeling and IoT protocols (REST, MQTT).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline, Engineering, Computer Science, or IT (preferred).
Additional Information:
- Standard 8-hour workdays with occasional after-hours support.
- Occasional travel for training and capital projects.
