Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals in group homes or community settings.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each client.
• Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Participate in training sessions related to CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications.
• Facilitate social interactions and community engagement for clients, promoting inclusion and participation in various activities.
• Assist with transportation needs for clients as required.

Experience

• Previous experience in home health care, group home settings, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and home community care is beneficial.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential.
• A genuine passion for helping others and making a positive impact on their lives is crucial for success in this role.
