About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer specializing in observability and logging engineering to join our Enterprise Observability Engineering team. This role involves designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and intelligent observability solutions that support our enterprise-wide distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open telemetry, log ingestion, and event correlation, with a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and AI/ML integration. As a leader in this capacity, you will drive strategic initiatives, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across disciplines to enhance our monitoring capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in developing automation tools, integrating observability into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring system reliability and performance at scale. This position offers the opportunity to influence the future of enterprise observability, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices to deliver impactful solutions.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering with a focus on observability and logging.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, .Net, Java, Go, or
- Experience with system architecture and AI Ops.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Cloud-native development experience on platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- API design expertise, including REST and gRPC.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies and strategic planning for observability maturity.
Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize observability environments by applying software engineering best practices.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to facilitate observability instrumentation and deployment processes.
- Integrate observability solutions into CI/CD pipelines utilizing infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
- Conduct code reviews focused on observability and implement automated validation checks to ensure quality.
- Design and build AI-native tools for autonomous issue detection, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Lead the design and development of distributed systems emphasizing reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Manage data routing, transformation, and endpoint monitoring integrations to ensure comprehensive observability.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SRE, Security, Networking, Platform Engineering, and Data Science to align observability strategies with business objectives.
- Communicate technical insights and strategic recommendations effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
