We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by assisting in the preparation of ingredients and dishes, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety standards.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Assist in menu planning and the development of new recipes.
• Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency in food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Perform cooking tasks as needed, including grilling, sautéing, and baking.
• Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Assist in catering events as required, providing high-quality food service to guests.

Skills

• Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
• Strong background in menu planning and food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and culinary skills, including knife skills.
• Familiarity with food service operations and the food industry is essential.
• Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is highly desirable.
• Understanding of food safety practices and regulations is crucial for this role.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
