Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a proven track record in hardware retail management. As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing staff, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Duties

  • Lead and motivate a team of retail associates to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, and training of new staff members to build a competent team.
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers/vendors/sales reps to maintain stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training development for team members to foster growth.
  • Communicate effectively with staff to ensure understanding of store goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll management, and reporting to upper management on store performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably hardware retail management, or a similar role is required.
  • Strong skills in recruiting, interviewing, and training employees.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members alike.
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administrative capabilities with experience in maintaining records and reports related to store operations.
  • A background in training development is preferred to enhance team performance.
  • Comfortable using a computer and office suites
