About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned
Systems Engineer
to join our growing
BlueArmor
team in Charlotte, NC. This is a Tier 2/3 technical role designed for someone who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a self-directed environment. As part of a fast-paced Managed Services Provider (MSP) team, you'll have the opportunity to lead key initiatives—from migrations and automation to infrastructure modernization and client success.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical projects
including server migrations, network redesigns, and cloud transitions. - Provide presales support
when technical discussion are needed with prospects
. - Manage and maintain infrastructure
— Windows servers, networks (including firewall), and storage systems. - Design and deploy security solutions
, including firewall configurations, endpoint protection, and VDI setups. - Automate and streamline workflows
by writing scripts within the RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) platform. - Support and mentor Tier 1–2 technicians
, providing escalation support for advanced issues and guiding best practices. - Collaborate directly with clients
, delivering clear communication and exceptional service throughout project lifecycles. - Continuously improve processes
, identifying areas where automation or proactive monitoring can elevate client outcomes.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in a Managed Services Provider or multi-client IT environment.
- Security-first approach to your work.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server, EntraID, Microsoft 365, Azure VDI, and network infrastructure.
- Experience configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Meraki, Fortinet, SonicWall, WatchGuard, or similar).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Power Automate, etc.).
- Working knowledge of RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, N-able, Datto RMM).
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Industry-recognized certifications are a plus (A+, Security+, Network+).
- A service mindset with the ability to balance precision, performance, and personality.
