Having successfully navigated multiple market cycles, they're now expanding their footprint to Northern Ireland to establish a world‑class engineering capability.
The Role As a Senior Back‑end Java Developer you'll play a key role in the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise‑grade trading systems and supporting applications. You'll collaborate closely with trading, operations, and risk teams to build tools and data feeds that drive business performance and resilience across the firm. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems in a collaborative, high‑performing environment where engineering quality and innovation come first.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain core enterprise systems supporting trading and risk operations.
Build tools, reports, and data pipelines to support key business processes.
Ensure software quality, scalability, and operational resiliency.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver technology solutions that support business goals.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to engineering best practices.
Essential Criteria
6‑10+ years of experience in a technical software engineering role.
Strong Computer Science fundamentals and solid understanding of software design principles.
Proven experience with large‑scale, distributed systems.
Hands‑on experience in cloud environments (AWS or similar).
Strong back‑end development skills, preferably Java (Spring Boot a plus) but C++ or other back‑end developers are welcome.
Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
AWS certification or experience in cloud‑native architectures is an advantage.
