About

Full time: Hybrid (2 days at home, 3 days in the office)
About the Role We’re looking for a strategic, creative and data‑driven Content Marketing Manager to elevate the visibility, credibility and authority of Trade Direct Insurance and Business Direct Insurance across digital channels. If you’re passionate about building content ecosystems that drive organic growth, fuel engagement and position brands as true industry leaders, then this role is for you.
As our Content Marketing Manager, you will lead the content strategy for both brands, developing high‑impact content that resonates with trade professionals, SMEs, consultants, and lifestyle trades. You’ll own everything from SEO‑driven content and Digital PR campaigns to thought leadership, lifecycle communications, and sales enablement. Working cross‑functionally with marketing, sales, CRM, product and external agencies, you’ll ensure our content is aligned, measurable and impactful across the entire customer journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with SEO goals, campaign timelines, and PR opportunities.
Create and commission content that supports organic search growth, including blogs, guides, landing pages, and video scripts.
Collaborate with SEO specialists to optimise content for search visibility and performance, with a focus on measurable outcomes such as views, downloads, time on page, and SEO performance.
Lead the development of thought leadership pieces that showcase TDI’s and Business Direct’s expertise and industry insight.
Ensure content supports the full customer journey—from awareness to retention—by aligning messaging with lifecycle stages and customer needs.
Embrace a blended approach to content creation, leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency, scale, and innovation.
Digital PR & Integrated Campaigns
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, trade publications, and influencers (alongside our Social Media Manager) to secure coverage and backlinks.
Plan and execute integrated campaigns that support product launches, seasonal promotions, and brand initiatives.
Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies to maximise reach and engagement, with a focus on marketing pipeline attribution and content performance optimisation.
Lead the preparation and submission of industry awards, ensuring timely delivery and amplification of positive outcomes.
Customer Journey Communications & CRM
Collaborate with CRM and customer service teams to develop lifecycle communications that improve engagement, retention, and upsell opportunities.
Create segmented email content and automated journeys tailored to different customer types (e.g. tradespeople, SMEs, consultants).
Optimise messaging across onboarding, renewal, and re-engagement touchpoints to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.
Partner with sales teams to develop and maintain content that supports sales conversations, including brochures, pitch decks, and case studies.
Track adoption and usage of sales tools, ensuring content is relevant, accessible, and aligned with sales objectives.
Ensure messaging consistency across all content by aligning with established messaging frameworks and brand guidelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer service teams to ensure content reflects customer pain points and business priorities.
Liaise with external agencies to scale content production and PR outreach.
Performance & Reporting
Track and report on content performance using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Monitor keyword rankings, traffic, engagement metrics, and backlink profiles.
