Pastry Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant to support our culinary team in a fast-paced food production environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food handling and kitchen operations. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills while contributing to the creation of high-quality baked goods and food products.

Duties

• Assist with cake decorating, pastry preparation, and food presentation to ensure visually appealing products.
• Willing to learn new techniques from executive chef
• Support food production processes including, baking, proofing, kneading, packaging, portioning, and assembly of baked goods and other items
• Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation tasks following safety and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment cleaning and sanitation
• Handle food safely according to industry regulations and standards
• Assist with catering orders, special events, or restaurant service as needed
• Support the team in maintaining inventory levels and restocking supplies
• Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety protocols

Skills

• Experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts is highly desirable
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
• Previous experience in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering services is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well within a team
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and packaging
• Basic understanding of culinary terminology and food industry best practices

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
