Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Echo Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform high-quality echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise will support physicians by providing clear, detailed images of the heart and related structures, ensuring accurate assessments for patient care. Duties
- Operate echocardiography equipment to produce detailed ultrasound images of the heart, including two-dimensional, Doppler, and stress echocardiograms.
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic procedures such as interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and other catheter-based interventions.
- Monitor and record vital signs and physiological data during procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal imaging conditions.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to evaluate diagnostic results, providing accurate imaging reports for clinical interpretation.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
- Keep detailed documentation of procedures, equipment maintenance, and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience performing echocardiography in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques related to cardiovascular health.
- Proficiency in sonography techniques specific to cardiac imaging, including interventional cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization.
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring systems and emergency medicine protocols for acute care settings.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent aseptic technique and maintain sterile fields during invasive procedures.
- Experience working in a cath lab or similar high-pressure environment is highly desirable.
- Certification as an Echocardiographer (RDCS or RCS) from an accredited organization is preferred; however, qualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
