Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership abilities. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain high culinary standards, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, menu development, and food preparation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes served.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Oversee food storage, rotation, and waste reduction procedures.
- Lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence, ensuring smooth service.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order execution.
- Contribute creative ideas for specials, seasonal menus, and new dishes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong background as a Lead Line Cook.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast/paste plant environment.
- Must be able to stand and remain on their feet for extended periods.
