Position Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead engineering and maintenance functions across three manufacturing sites. This high-impact role oversees Process Engineering, Project Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Capital Improvement Projects, while directly managing Maintenance and Reliability teams. The position drives operational excellence, productivity, equipment reliability, and strategic growth.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned to operational goals and long-term growth.
  • Plan and deliver capital projects on scope, on budget, and on schedule with strong safety and compliance.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, TPM) across all sites.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize manufacturing processes and standardize best practices.
  • Build robust asset management strategies to maximize lifecycle value, ensure regulatory compliance, and support capital planning.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Lead maintenance and reliability programs to maximize uptime and asset care.
  • Implement and mature CMMS and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Own equipment performance monitoring; conduct root-cause analysis and corrective action for recurring issues.

Project & Process Engineering

  • Manage engineering projects from concept through commissioning (scope, vendor selection, installation, validation).
  • Support process optimization, scale-up of new products, and complex troubleshooting across production lines.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Quality, and R&D to support product development and manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related); Master's preferred.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in capital projects, maintenance/reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in coatings, chemicals, or related process industries is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed.
