Job Description

At The Cottage Grocery, our Line Cooks enjoy collaborating with a tight-knit Kitchen Staff to prepare a variety of original dishes including lunches, appetizers, dinners, and more This position reports to our Evening Line Manager.

Responsibilities

• Review daily recipe assignments and follow recipes to ensure minimal waste and cooking meals according to our recipes or customer requests.
• Ensuring the quality and presentation of food items.
• Packaging and labeling products according to Cottage Grocery guidelines.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, regularly wiping down work station, and complying with sanitation regulations.
• Monitoring inventory and supplies and informing our KM when supplies are needed.
• Contribute to the team environment by completing other tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers License (Company will pay for License and continued maintenance).
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients and equipment, and work in a hot environment.
• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn and comply with new recipes.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask to efficiently and safely prepare recipes in bulk.
• Previous experience working as a commercial or restaurant cook is a plus
