About The Role
As an E-commerce Front End Developer at Cognizant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all front-end development activities related to our e-commerce platforms. You will play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing user interfaces that enhance customer experience and drive engagement. Working closely with management, design, backend, and client teams, you will ensure seamless integration of UI components, uphold design standards, and implement best practices in front-end development. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the digital shopping experience, contribute to innovative UI solutions, and lead efforts in user experience optimization. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in front-end development
  • Proficiency in and frameworks, including Hooks, Redux, and Saga
  • Experience with , CMS component integration, API consumption, SSR/CSR rendering, middleware, and logging
  • Strong knowledge of version control tools such as Git and SourceTree
  • Familiarity with deployment processes and API testing tools like Postman
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JEST, including writing test scripts and analyzing code coverage
  • Proficiency in responsive UI development using Bootstrap CSS framework and MDB library, ensuring cross-browser compatibility across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce platforms, commercial offerings, and frontend architecture
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, Google Tag Manager, and A/B testing (preferred)
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lead UI/UX development efforts and mentor team members

Responsibilities

  • Analyze UI issues, identify root causes, and develop effective action plans to resolve them
  • Conduct code reviews and facilitate regular meetings with offshore teams to ensure quality and alignment
  • Estimate UI development efforts and manage project timelines effectively
  • Provide guidance to UI teams on UX/UI development approaches and best practices
  • Collaborate with client teams, design, backend, and frontend development teams to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors to achieve business goals and optimize user experience
  • Lead all user experience and design projects, including creating information architecture, wireframes, personas, and user journeys for the direct-to-consumer experience
  • Establish and communicate effective design processes rooted in Design Thinking and user-centered design techniques
  • Incorporate customer feedback continuously to maintain design excellence across the eCommerce platform
  • Drive iterative user interaction and experience improvements in collaboration with third-party agencies and internal teams
  • Diagnose and resolve conversion challenges promptly, partnering with external agencies and development teams
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot complex technical issues during project delivery
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
