About

Basic Functions and Responsibilities:     

Oversee the Accounting and IT departments staff and operations.  Manage operations and assignments of staff, communicate goals/accomplishments, ensure accounting position standards are maintained.   Oversee staff training and development and support a positive work environment.     

Oversee the preparation and review of all daily, monthly, and annual financial reports/statements.     

 Maintain a comprehensive and fundamentally sound system of internal controls ensuring substantial compliance at all levels of the organization.  Effect change where necessary to meet this principal function.      

Manage the year end audit process to include the preparation and timely submission of all deliverables to the external auditors, reconciliation of hotel to auditors numbers and approval of final report.      

 Ensure asset reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are maintained with reconciling items resolved in a timely manner.     

 Manage periodic audits by state and federal authorities

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and taxing authorities' laws/regulations and the timely remittance of related taxes and returns.     

Maintain detailed Fixed Asset Accounting records that reconcile with the general ledger Property, Plant, and Equipment accounts and support the depreciation allowance recorded.     

Work closely with staff and managers to identify areas for profit enhancement and process efficiency and effect change.     

Assist the Director of Finance in the development of financial projections.      

     Job Requirements:     

     
•      Ability to conduct all business and people relationships in an ethical, professional, and honorable manner.     

     
•      BS degree in Hotel Administration or Accounting.     

     
•      Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Hotel Controller in a full-service hotel.
