About The Role
This position is integral to Mayo Clinic's data-driven decision-making process, focusing on leveraging data analysis, mining, visualization, and reporting to support healthcare and business initiatives. Reporting to senior data analysts or data scientists, the successful candidate will utilize their analytical skills to interpret complex structured and unstructured data, providing actionable insights that influence clinical and operational strategies. The role involves executing descriptive analytics, developing data queries, creating visualizations, and supporting forecasting efforts. It also includes modifying scripts or applications to enhance data management and extraction processes. The candidate will work closely with subject matter experts, translating data findings into clear, understandable reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, data science, health science, or a related analytical/quantitative field.
- Ability to develop predictive models using advanced statistical, machine learning, or data mining techniques (preferred).
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies, planning, continuous improvement, and analytical tools such as machine learning algorithms, statistical packages, and modeling software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects effectively.
- Knowledge of healthcare trends, enterprise changes, and data science best practices.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and a customer-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
- Utilize data analysis, mining, visualization, and reporting techniques to support healthcare and business projects.
- Support projects under the close supervision of senior data professionals, executing descriptive analytics, data queries, and data engineering tasks.
- Develop and modify scripts or software applications to facilitate data extraction, management, and analysis.
- Interpret complex data sets and contribute to the preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Assist in training and advising stakeholders on data interpretation and best practices for data utilization.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Print and communicate findings in clear, accessible language suitable for clinical and business audiences.
- Stay updated on healthcare industry trends and incorporate new methodologies to improve analytical processes.
