Bachoco USA is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for our Albertville, AL location.

Summary: Supervises daily operational quality activities at the assigned complex. Responsible for daily monitoring and verifying activities relative to USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, BRC, customer and company requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervises activities of the quality assurance technicians.
  • Interacts with USDA personnel and customers as directed by senior management.
  • Helps plan, organize, and implement HACCP protocol testing.
  • Responsible for meeting government, customer, and company requirements and the reporting of significant events in a timely manner to management.
  • Helps plan and prepare for plant audits.
  • Report's activities, as needed, to production and maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to develop operational quality leads, make decisions and provide clear directions.
  • Responsible for all directives brought forth by senior management.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 10-15 employees in Quality Assurance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Technical School, or High School Diploma with one-year related food plant experience or training or combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a production environment, poultry preferred.
  • Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP SQF.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of E-mail software; Database software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • HACCP, GMP, SSOP and SQF certifications.
