ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Duties include, but not limited to, the following)
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR Director, including scheduling, correspondence, and data entry.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files (digital and physical).
- Prepare personnel action forms and assist with documentation for performance evaluations, corrective actions, and merit increases.
- Maintain HR databases and assist with HRIS data entry, audits, and updates.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and communication with candidates. Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Prepare new-hire materials, conduct onboarding sessions, and ensure completion of required documentation and orientations.
Training and Compliance
- Track employee training, certifications, and licenses to ensure compliance with agency, Title 17, Title 22, and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with HR reports, policy updates, and communications as directed.
- Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews.
Safety & Risk Management
- Serve as Safety Committee Chair; assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting follow-up actions.
- Maintain OSHA logs and assists in preparing regulatory reports.
- Support Worker's Compensation Claim administration and communication.
- Support employee injury reporting, documentation, and follow-up for Workers' Compensation cases.
- Promote safety awareness and support implementation of Unyeway's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and emergency preparedness plans.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Handle employee inquiries with professionalism and discretion, referring complex matters to the HR Director as appropriate.
- Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Gather data for HR metrics and reporting to support department objectives.
General HR Support:
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in employment law, safety, and talent management.
- Participate in HR projects, policy development, and process improvement initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and agencygoals.
MINIMUM QUALIFIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; OR four (4) years of related experience in personnel administration.
- At least two (2) years of experience performing Coordinator-level HR duties, preferably in social services or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of California Labor and employment law, wage/hour compliance, ADA, FMLA, and EEO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); HRIS experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Good judgement and ability to make timely and sound decisions .
Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
