Job Description – Security Guard

A security guard's job is to monitor a property for safety and security, and to respond to any emergencies. Security guards are often the first to notice and act on security issues.

Responsibilities

• Patrol: Regularly inspect and patrol the premises
• Monitor: Monitor surveillance cameras, entrances, and exits
• Control access: Authorize who can enter and exit the property
• Respond to alarms: Respond to alarms and other emergencies in a timely manner
• Report: Report any suspicious activity, incidents, or irregularities
• Provide assistance: Assist people in need, provide information, and guide traffic
• Secure: Secure doors, windows, and other entrances
• Complete reports: Document all observations and incidents in reports
• Be a deterrent: Be a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions

Skills

• Communication: Have excellent communication skills
• Proactive: Be proactive and attentive during working hours

• Independent: Be able to work independently
