About
We are hiring a motivated Material Handler for our Washington, D.C. facility. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring that all goods are handled, organized, and prepared for their next stage in the logistics process. As a Material Handler, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, including receiving, stocking, picking, and preparing items for shipment. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety are paramount. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Stock materials and products in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and stage materials for production or outbound shipment.
- Operate manual and powered equipment to move materials (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records within the warehouse management system.
- Support the logistics team with various operational tasks as needed.
- Capability to handle repetitive lifting and moderate to heavy physical exertion.
- Follow all safety procedures related to material handling.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, material handling, or logistics environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
