About
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately pick items from warehouse shelves and prepare them for shipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety. You will be working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, utilizing technology to track inventory and order status.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using a handheld scanner or pick sheet.
- Locate and retrieve products from designated warehouse locations.
- Verify product information against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Package items securely and safely for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any discrepancies or damages to inventory immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily picking and packing goals.
- Understand and follow all warehouse safety guidelines and best practices.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive lifting tasks throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels.
- Basic math skills for inventory verification.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Proficiency in handling materials and performing moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Commitment to workplace safety and following all guidelines for PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial.
- Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
