We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Portland, Oregon. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution efforts. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or storage. Your duties will encompass operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is stored correctly and safely. A strong commitment to safety and efficiency is essential. If you have experience operating warehouse machinery and a desire to contribute to a dynamic team, we want to hear from you. - Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and trailers.
- Moving materials within the warehouse to designated storage areas.
- Assisting with inventory counts and checks.
- Ensuring materials are properly packaged and labeled for shipment.
- Maintaining equipment and reporting any operational issues.
- Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The successful candidate will possess a valid forklift certification or demonstrated experience. The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds, and standing for extended periods is required. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial.
