Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring the freshness of ingredients, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your creativity and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, following traditional techniques and recipes.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored, adhering to food safety standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper sanitation practices.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special dietary requests.
• Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.

Skills

• Proven experience in food service, particularly in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine.
• Proficient knife skills with the ability to handle various kitchen tools safely and effectively.
• Strong culinary knowledge with an understanding of flavor profiles and ingredient pairings.
• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with menu planning and dietary department guidelines is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques in the culinary arts.
