Cable Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication and network systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber splicing, network installation, and telecommunication infrastructure. Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic and Ethernet cabling systems across multiple sites
• Perform fiber splicing with precision to ensure optimal signal transmission
• Set up and configure Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment
• Conduct network installations including telephony and low voltage systems
• Use hand tools and electrical/mechanical knowledge to install and maintain cabling infrastructure
• Test electrical circuits using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to verify system integrity
• Perform field service tasks such as diagnosing issues, replacing faulty components, and ensuring system performance meets specifications
• Adhere to safety protocols during all installation and maintenance activities
• Document work performed accurately and report on system status or issues

Skills

• Proven experience with fiber splicing, network installation, and telecommunication systems
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, telephony, and low voltage wiring
• Hands-on experience working with Cisco routers and switches
• Familiarity with cabling techniques, cable management, and mechanical installation methods
• Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in various environments
• Service technician experience preferred for troubleshooting complex systems efficiently
• Mechanical knowledge related to electrical components and infrastructure setup
• Experience working with telecommunication equipment in field service roles
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams, electrical schematics, and blueprints
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures for low voltage systems
