The City of Fayetteville's Marketing & Communications Department is currently recruiting for a part-time Content Creator to develop and produce engaging written, visual, and video content across various digital platforms to inform the public about local initiatives, services, events, and news, while aligning with the city's brand and communication strategy, collaborating with different departments to share important information effectively.
- Design, produce, and edit original video content for use across digital platforms, including social media, FayTV, and the City website, ensuring alignment with brand and messaging standards.
- Manage video production process from storyboarding and scripting to filming and editing; create polished, high-impact media that supports departmental and citywide initiatives.
- Develop creative series or recurring segments that increase public engagement and highlight City services, events, and community voices.
- Capture a variety of video assets including interviews, events, B-roll, and live footage to support campaigns, informational programming, and media outreach.
- Design and produce digital and print-ready graphics, layouts, and visual elements for projects such as event booklets, presentations, promotional materials, and social media.
- Operate and maintain production equipment including digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and mirrorless cameras, lighting kits, audio gear, mobile phones, and professional editing software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).
- Support live productions, including broadcasts of City Council meetings and special events, with responsibilities in camera operation, live streaming, and basic troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with communications staff, department liaisons, and subject matter experts to ensure content accurately reflects City goals and priorities.
- Create supplementary visual assets such as infographics and photography to enhance storytelling and promote initiatives across platforms.
- Maintain a digital portfolio of completed work, manage multiple concurrent projects, and provide support for evolving content needs across the Marketing & Communications team.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in direct content creation, video creation and video editing.
Training
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
