Agentic & Gen AI Architect

Teaneck, New Jersey or Dallas–Fort Worth (Hybrid)

Cognizant is hiring an Agentic & Gen AI Architect to design and implement next-generation AI ecosystems for major enterprise clients. This is a high-impact role blending advisory leadership, hands-on technical architecture, and practice development — shaping how Fortune 500 organisations adopt Generative AI and agent-based systems at scale.

What you'll be doing:

• Architect modular, cloud-native AI platforms using LLMs, SLMs, and multi-agent orchestration
• Lead executive-level engagements defining AI strategy, roadmaps, and investment priorities
• Deliver verticalised AI solutions across banking, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and more
• Lead model development end-to-end: data prep, training, SFT, RLHF, LoRA, deployment, optimisation
• Build enterprise CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and governance for AI and agent lifecycles
• Hire, mentor, and grow cross-functional AI teams; lead capability squads
• Collaborate with AWS, Azure, GCP, ISVs, and startups on co-developed AI offerings
• Represent Cognizant in whitepapers, patents, roundtables, and industry events

What you'll bring:

• 15+ years in IT/architecture with hands-on engineering experience
• 5+ years in AI/ML, including Generative & Agentic AI
• Expertise in SFT, RLHF, LoRA/QLoRA, RAG, and model evaluation
• Certifications in at least two major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Deep MLOps/LLMOps experience, including compliance and observability
• C-suite advisory experience leading strategic AI transformations
• Strong leadership background building and scaling AI teams

Nice to have:

• Publications, patents, or open-source work in agentic systems or LLMOps
• Thought leadership at conferences or in media
• Domain depth in financial services, healthcare, or energy
• Experience with AgentOps and advanced evaluation/observability tooling
