About

The Accounting Manager will oversee the company's accounting operations, including full-cycle month-end close, general ledger accuracy, and complex accounting analyses. This role manages a team of accountants, analysts and AP specialists, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in building scalable processes during periods of transformation.

Location & Time Zone: 100% remote — candidates must be based in CST or EST time zones.

Reporting to: CFO

Tools: QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, Highly proficient in Excel

Your team: 10-person finance team (1 CFO, 1 Sr. Accountant, 2 Staff Accountants, 4 Finance Analysts, 1 Sr Accounting Analyst, and you)

Interview Process: Three stage over approximately three weeks -> 45-min recruiter chat -> 1-hour CFO interview -> 1-hour finance panel

What will you do

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee all core accounting operations - general ledger, AP/AR, payroll and fixed assets.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with GAAP.
  • Manage consolidated financials across multiple entities for accuracy and compliance.
  • Review journals, reconciliations, and key schedules.
  • Deliver accurate financial reports and insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate with FP&A on variance analysis and reporting packages.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and private-equity reporting requirements.

Technical Accounting

  • Handle complex areas such as revenue recognition, equity, consolidation, and purchase accounting.
  • Prepare technical accounting documentation and support audits.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the accounting and AP team.
  • Oversee AP operations and drive high-performance culture.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Strengthen internal controls and streamline workflows.
  • Support system improvements (ERP, automation).
  • Build scalable processes aligned with company growth.

What will you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance.
  • CPA required (or in active pursuit).
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and complex accounting issues.
  • Experience managing full-cycle month-end close.
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, or high-growth environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
