Hill International is seeking a Commissioning Lead in Miami, Florida
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Commissioning Plan, schedule, and procedures for all assigned projects.
- Review design documents to confirm commissioning requirements are incorporated.
- Ensure compliance with State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), Florida Building Code, and Broward Schools standards.
- Facilitate commissioning meetings during design and construction phases.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure commissioning milestones are met.
- Serve as the District's representative for commissioning-related issues and conflict resolution.
- Oversee pre-functional and functional performance testing of systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
- Verify installation and operation of equipment per specifications and contract documents.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning records, checklists, and reports.
- Ensure delivery of final Commissioning Report and Systems Manual to the District.
- Organize and oversee training sessions for District staff on building systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and warranties are provided at project closeout.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in construction commissioning or building systems management; experience in educational facilities preferred.
- Knowledge of Florida Building Code, SREF, and ASHRAE commissioning guidelines.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in commissioning software and reporting tools.
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent is preferred.
- LEED Accreditation is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement.
