We are currently looking for a Project Manager with a focus on Treatment Plants and +8 years or more experience in the heavy civil construction industry to join our team.
The project that we are looking to fill this position on is a $25 million dollar Treatment Plant repair project at Terminal Island in San Pedro. The project includes structural repairs and improvements to concrete. Replacement of the sludge and scum collection system which include pumps, chains and flights. Installation of new aluminum tank covers. Replacement of the HPE piping system. Automate the tank influent gates (3 gates per tank). Installation of a new automated venturi bypass gate with passive overflow weir. Install tie-in locations on the deck at the perimeter of the tanks for personnel safety. Installation of three spool pipes per tank (total of 18), and installation of one new manual slide gate on tank 6.
We are looking for a person that can develop a deep understanding of the project documents, including the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports, CPM schedules, specifications, project deliverable documents, correspondence, billings, and related project controls items. This person should be capable of leading a project team on a fast-paced project and be knowledge in self-performed concrete, mechanical, civil and underground construction. This person should also feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software such as Viewpoint's Vista and be detailed oriented. In addition to office task, this person will work closely with the project superintendent(s) and project engineer(s) to develop and execute work plans as well as track costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work On Site to help solve problems that occur during construction
- Work within Vista to manage costs reports
- Maintain thorough understanding of the contract with the Owner
- Monitor and report project schedule and cost progress
- Field work: Assist engineers and superintendents with work plans
- Review and approve project invoices and subcontractor payables
- Document control such as change and claim management
- Subcontractor management and development of subcontracts
- Material procurement including purchase orders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- +8 Years or more of Experience in Treatment Plants and Pump Stations construction projects in California.
- Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
- Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills.
