About

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all employees follow all safety and company policies and procedures, and issue disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Engage in good communications with production managers and other department heads for planning and scheduling to determine what maintenance requirements are needed in departments and set priorities and schedules to accomplish them.
  • Direct and plan daily job assignments to maintenance employees.
  • Plan strategies for new jobs and projects, ensuring all materials and parts are on hand to perform the tasks.
  • Provide good communication with the maintenance employees assigned to jobs or projects in order to generate input and ideas to expedite completion and generate cost savings.
  • Ensure all maintenance employees have the necessary tools to do the job and assign the most appropriate crew for the task.
  • Frequently check on assigned jobs and projects for progress and completion, ensuring there are no complications.
  • 'Hands on' working with subordinates on jobs and projects.
  • Create special spreadsheets, PM inspection sheets and schedules, job cost spreadsheets, along with other pertinent reports.
  • Conduct performance reviews to document strong qualities along with areas that need improvement.
  • Communicate with upper management on all aspects of jobs and projects in progress.
  • Ensure the Maintenance Department has qualified employees who are capable of keeping equipment and machines operating at peak performance.
  • Incorporate and maintain a thorough PM program necessary to keep equipment and machines operating with minimal downtime.
  • Communicate with Purchasing to ensure adequate inventory of materials and parts for necessary repairs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and PLC systems, as well as manufacturing processes.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide maintenance staff.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address maintenance challenges effectively.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with other departments and external partners.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety in all maintenance activities.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering a plus
  • 3 years in experience as a Maintenance Manager in a Manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Assistance is required for anything over 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk long distances, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, push and pull heavy objects
  • Ability to be on call as needed
  • Ability to climb heights and ladders when needed
  • Required to reach or grip with arms and hands
  • Work in uncontrolled environments hot and cold
