Job Description
- Assist with various aspects of engineering projects (field, laboratory, office) for geotechnical and construction materials testing departments. Tasks associated with these may include but are not limited to boring layout, utility clearance, permit acquisition, sampling and classifying of soils, coordination with subcontractors, supervision of drill crews, and assigning laboratory testing
- Function as part of a team of engineers working on projects that include community infrastructure and improvements, paving, commercial buildings, solar energy facilities, power plants.
- Assist in writing technical reports. This may include compilation of geotechnical laboratory test data, geotechnical calculations and for slope stability, lateral earth pressure, foundation capacity, settlements, deep foundation design, and pavement design.

- Written communication and analytical skills that demonstrate the ability to construct a proper sentence, with attention to detail, for technical reports and proposals.
- Organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to self-monitor, multi-task and be proactive.
- Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to maintain professional candor and work within a team to meet established deadlines.
- Computer skills that demonstrate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interrupt plans.

Requirements
- Ability to perform field work in active constructions sites year-round without restrictions, and in inclement weather. Must be able to regularly lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must have a valid Arizona driver's license with clean 5 year driving record and be willing to work in the field as required.
- Able to obtain within 6 months a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school.
- Able to obtain EIT status with the State of Arizona within 1 year.
