Position Summary
Assists the Departmental Coordinator with daily responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner for patients, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions
- Follow proper cleaning methods specific to each area of the facility to ensure efficiency and time management.
- Clean and sanitize various areas, including patient rooms, offices, lounges, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairwells, windows, light fixtures, drapes, cubicle curtains, miscellaneous linens, and tilt trucks.
- Vacuum and edge carpets, rugs, walk-off mats, and upholstered furniture; complete additional floor care assignments as needed.
- Dust furniture, medical and computer equipment, vents, window blinds, and all flat surfaces in work areas.
- Remove trash, soiled linens, and infectious waste using appropriate containers and transport to designated disposal or storage areas.
- Perform floor care duties: dust/wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing, burnishing, shampooing, and extraction.
- Adhere to all safety and universal precaution standards both individually and department-wide.
- Uses appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and supplies according to established procedures.
- Work various shifts (day, evening, night) as assigned and complete work promptly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Engaged and committed to providing a clean environment in the healthcare setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively and promote a team concept with Environmental Services leadership.

Newborn Infant/Pediatric Adolescent Adult Geriatric All No Direct Patient Care
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and push a minimum of 160 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours), and perform repetitive hand movements (wiping, scrubbing, pulling).
- Must possess good flexibility and have adequate vision and hearing (correctable with prosthetics if necessary).
- Must be able to work outdoors between buildings as needed.
