You will support a migration from the current Oracle database to a Postgres database and manage the database environments proactively. Here at CGS, we offer an environment in which our employees feel supported, and we encourage professional growth through various learning opportunities.Skills and attributes for success:Drive efforts to migrate from the current Oracle database to the new Microsoft Azure Postgres databaseCreate and maintain technical documentation, using defined technical documentation templates, as well as gain an in-depth knowledge of the business data to propose and implement effective solutionsCollaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirementsEnsure the availability and performance of the databases that support our systems, ensuring that they have sufficient resources allocated to support high resilience and speedPerform and assist developers in performance tuningProactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime and improve maintenance of the databases to include rollouts, patching, and upgradesCreate and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates, as well as gaining an in-depth knowledge of the business data to propose and implement effective solutionsWork within a structured and Agile development approachQualifications:Bachelor's degreeMust be US Citizenship7 years of experience with administrating PostgreSQL Databases in Linux environmentsExperience with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instancesExperience with implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processesExperience migrating Oracle schema, packages, views, triggers to Postgres using Ora2Pg toolIdeally, you will also have:Experience implementing and maintaining data warehousesExperience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQLExperience with Oracle databasesExperience leveraging the Ora2Pg toolExperience with working in cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWSPrior federal consulting experienceOur Commitment:Contact Government Services (CGS) strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
