Join our bustling warehouse operations in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Material Handler. This vital role is the backbone of our supply chain, ensuring the efficient movement and storage of materials throughout the facility. You will be responsible for receiving goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and safely transporting materials to their designated locations using various material handling equipment. Accurate inventory management and meticulous record-keeping are key components of this position. You will also be involved in the preparation of materials for production or shipment, including kitting and staging. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe and organized workspace. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the warehouse.
- Stage materials for production lines or shipping areas.
- Accurately record material movements and inventory adjustments.
- Perform regular checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a culture of Safety .
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Properly utilize PPE and follow all safety guidelines for Lifting and equipment operation.
- Support the overall efficiency of the warehouse Logistics flow.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role. Certification to operate forklifts is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy Lifting and physical tasks as required. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Commitment to upholding strict Safety standards and using PPE effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good mechanical aptitude. Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
