About
Our Columbus, Ohio facility is looking for a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and manage our warehouse inventory. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management system. You will be responsible for maintaining precise stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. The Inventory Control Specialist will play a vital part in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring that our products are available when and where they are needed. You will work closely with the warehouse management team, shipping, and receiving departments to reconcile inventory records with physical counts. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is highly desirable. Your daily tasks will involve performing regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. You will also be involved in the receipt and put-away processes to ensure accurate data entry. This role requires adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe operating procedures for any equipment used. While this role is primarily data-driven, it may involve some moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs) to verify item counts or move stock for counting purposes. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counting and regular audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Implement and manage inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with receiving and shipping teams to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and report on potential shortages or overages.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Proper use of PPE during inventory checks or movement.
- Assist with physical inventory counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Understanding of Safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
