This role will be based in our New York office, on a hybrid in office basis and will work directly with the Director of Marketing and Business Development to support firm proposals and RFPs.
Position Summary
The candidate must be a self-starter who is flexible, dedicated, client-service oriented, resourceful, high-energy and collaborative who is able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both written and verbal, is essential. This candidate must possess a strong client service orientation, be able to develop relationships within the firm, meet tight deadlines, and possess strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Works hand in hand with department professionals and leaders throughout the firm
Develops firm content and maintains and ensures firm content standards is consistent with brand and style guidelines
Writes content for business development opportunities including RFPs, proposals and brochures
Drafts and edits firm nominations including reviewing opportunities and strategizing on potential submissions
Writes, edits and proofs content for marketing materials and firm website
Ensures the accuracy and quality of submissions of nominations
Other tasks as needed
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies
A self-starter and team player, able to accept direction, yet work independently
Ability to synthesize complex information into a compelling narrative
Excellent prioritization and time management skills
Candidates must have outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to communicate effectively with attorneys and professionals at all levels
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
Strong client-first work ethic
Must be attentive to detail, work well under pressure, and have the ability to manage simultaneous and tight deadlines
Preferred candidates will have excellent writing/copyediting skills, including specialized experience in business and/or legal writing
Advanced knowledge and familiarity with The AP Style Guide, as well as the rules of English grammar and style are required
Education & Prior Experience
Bachelor's degree required, in journalism, public relations, English, communications, or related field preferred. Experience as a business or legal journalist preferred
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years professional experience as a business writer, legal writer or content developer, including experience in both print and web content
Technology
Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook required
The expected pay range for this position is:
$89,264 to $106,240 per year
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
