Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise and the ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a secure correctional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with state laws and facility protocols.
• Manage acute and chronic illnesses, focusing on preventive care and patient education.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Document all clinical findings, treatments, and patient interactions accurately and in compliance with DOC standards.
• Provide guidance and supervision to nursing staff when appropriate.
• Adhere to all facility policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a correctional healthcare setting.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP).
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from an accredited national board.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
• BLS/CPR Certification (Required).
