Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Representative to join our compassionate veterinary team at Friends of Felines Community Wellness Clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front-office operations, providing excellent client service, and supporting fellow veterinary staff with various administrative and animal handling duties. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, feline low-stress handling techniques, and exceptional communication skills to ensure a smooth and efficient clinic experience for clients and their cats.

Duties

  • Greet clients and patients warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and handle phone and email inquiries efficiently
  • Collect payments with accuracy and professionalism
  • Perform basic vaccine and flea control appointments when the lead veterinary assistant is not available
  • Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, and basic animal care procedures including blood draws and administering vaccinations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and exam rooms

Experience

  • Previous hands-on experience with feline handling and restraint is REQUIRED
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced and very busy high-volume clinic environment is REQUIRED
  • Previous veterinary customer service and veterinary assisting experience is PREFERRED
  • Knowledge of feline veterinary terminology, feline anatomy and behavior is IDEAL

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 22 per week
