Job Overview
Empire Eats is seeking a passionate, experienced, and results-driven Restaurant General Manager to lead one of our signature casual/upscale casual restaurants. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with exceptional hospitality instincts, a sharp business mind, and a commitment to building high-performing teams. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences, maintaining culinary and service excellence, and achieving operational and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Hospitality & Service Excellence

· Set the tone for a culture of genuine hospitality across all dayparts and service styles.

· Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and memorable service, resolving complaints gracefully.

· Lead pre-shift meetings to inspire the team around service goals, menu highlights, and hospitality techniques.

· Be present on the floor, actively engaging with guests and leading by example in warmth and professionalism.

Operational Oversight

· Oversee all front- and back-of-house operations to ensure smooth, efficient service from open to close.

· Implement and enforce standard operating procedures that maintain consistency, cleanliness, safety, and quality.

· Manage restaurant scheduling, shift coverage, and labor cost controls using data and forecasting tools.

· Maintain compliance with local health, safety, and labor regulations.

Team Leadership & Development

· Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain a passionate and skilled team.

· Provide continuous coaching, clear feedback, and performance reviews that promote growth and accountability.

· Create a motivating workplace culture centered on teamwork, recognition, and professional development.

· Lead all training efforts for both front-of-house and back-of-house staff in collaboration with corporate resources.

Financial Management & Business Acumen

· Oversee the restaurant's P&L, budgeting, and financial performance.

· Analyze key metrics (sales, labor, food cost, comps, etc.) to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

· Drive top-line revenue through local marketing, community partnerships, and hospitality-forward initiatives.

· Control operating costs and ensure adherence to cost targets, with weekly inventory and purchasing oversight.

Culinary & Beverage Quality

· Collaborate with chefs and beverage leads to ensure consistent execution of food and drink offerings.

· Conduct regular tastings, plate checks, and feedback sessions to uphold quality and portioning standards.

· Stay engaged with guest feedback and market trends to evolve the menu and enhance appeal.

Marketing & Community Engagement

· Represent the restaurant as a local brand ambassador by forging relationships in the community.

· Coordinate with the Empire Eats marketing team to execute seasonal campaigns and in-house promotions.

· Support social media, email marketing, and public relations initiatives to drive awareness and engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

· 3–5+ years of General Manager experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant.

· Proven track record of leadership, team development, and meeting financial goals.

· Deep understanding of hospitality, guest service, and team motivation.

· Strong business literacy: P&L management, forecasting, labor & food cost controls.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Tech-savvy with the ability to use scheduling, POS, and financial reporting platforms.
